Arrival of 17 Galgo's from Greyhounds Rescue Holland at the Kossack Stud
|
On the 7th of March, 2010 after spending a horrible life in Spain 17 galgo's arrived at the Kossack Stud.
The galgo is a calm and very shy and sociable animal. He enjoys running as much as he likes sleeping. He need help because he has to many people in Spain against him. A galgo that does not do well in his first career though it has been invested in him an entire year, is going to a stop to the shelter, or to hunters without scruples or directly sacrifices him, when only he counts with one year and little of life. One accuses him of being dirty and one condemns him to die.
Today in Spain, it is possible to see in all the kennels, quantities of left galgo's. They are find in the highways, strolling around for the villages, hung in the files, thrown to well, tied to a tree in order that they starve, tortures as punished for not wanting to hunt, burnt alive.
The laws are not applied to save the galgo, therefore it is necessary to save one to one, and many of them die, too many galgo's die......
To adopt a galgo is a wonderful experience, because to know them is fascinating, they have a way to express themselves with their eyes letting you know what they expect from you. They are incredible patient, enjoy life as know other. It is an animal that needs a lot of love.
We adopted 4 galgo's Wanda, Juana, Pakito and Arguis from Greyhounds Rescue Holland (www.greyhoundsrescue.nl)
